With a successful intern day in Washington, DC just weeks earlier, this past Friday GRA Quantum’s interns had the opportunity once again to meet for a day of activities – but this time our DC team went up to company headquarters in New York City. A full day around the city helped further develop their understanding of GRA Quantum’s core values: perseverance, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.
“Every member of the GRAQ team makes an effort to mentor and advise the interns. I feel like I’ve learned a lot and truly felt welcome by the whole company.”– Roma Sonik, DC Intern
The day began with a delicious lunch at Church Publick, a restaurant located in the Tribeca neighborhood, where the DC interns met the full New York office. The lunch helped the DC interns get to know their New York colleagues a little better, fostering a more collaborative workplace culture.
“I gained a lot from our visit. Seeing the dynamic of the New York office helped me learn more about GRAQ as a company and appreciate the work dynamic.” – Caitlin Stephenson, DC Intern
Afterwards the group made their way to the Freedom Tower, where GRA Quantum is putting the final touches on their new office on the 83rd floor. The group visited the observatory deck for a full view of Manhattan and a moment of reflection on the new tower’s purpose and history. While in the area, the New York staff welcomed the DC interns to their temporary office at Four World Trade Center where the group shared refreshments and escaped the Manhattan heat.
“I was in awe of our time in the Freedom Tower. I was amazed by the city and surrounding landscape when viewing it from this unique perspective.” – Holly Neshat, NY Intern
In the afternoon, our interns ventured out to Pier 25 for a game of mini-golf and a beautiful view of the Hudson River. Eighteen holes provided an excellent opportunity for some friendly competition.
When the game concluded, the interns met up with the New York staff once again for a delightful dinner at Estancia 460. The Italian meal was accompanied with great conversation as the group reflected on the day’s events and GRA Quantum’s core values.
With the internship season well underway, GRA Quantum is proud of what the New York and DC interns have learned so far and look forward to seeing what this group of young professionals will accomplish in the future.
